Time, Space, and Knowledge Guided Study Group

This group explores the Time, Space, and Knowledge vision of Tarthang Tulku through practice, reading, and discussion.

A group of Carolyn Pasternak’s TSK students is offering a new series of TSK classes based both on “Carolyn’s approach” (more practice-focused) and reading and discussion of Tarthang Tulku Rinpoche’s ground-breaking, original book Time, Space & Knowledge.

The structure of study is based on materials created and taught by Carolyn, a long-time Odiyan resident who passed away in  March 2019.  It is facilitated by her students and supervised by long term Time Space, and Knowledge teachers Ralph McFall and Jack Petranker.

DATES: Saturdays, Sept. 14, 2019 – December 7, 2019 (no class Nov. 30))

TIME: 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM PST

All proceeds from the classes will directly benefit the Odiyan community.

Each class will follow a structure developed by late Odiyan resident, Carolyn Pasternak, who led online TSK classes in 2018 and 2019, inspiring many students to continue working with the TSK vision.  Her series included two ‘Space’ classes, two ‘Time’ classes and two ‘Knowledge’ classes.  We will make use of the materials she developed. However, her class structure has been expanded from 6 weeks to 12 weeks, allowing for online class participation every or every other weekend.

This series will function like two independent classes nested together. Students may choose to participate in Section A (more practice focuses classes utilizing Carolyn’s approach) ~ or ~ Section B in which participants will dive into the original text in a supportive environment.  Section B will read the text aloud, discuss insights and questions that arise.  Participation in both Section A & B is welcome. Sections A & B will meet on alternating weekends.

Students who have completed Carolyn’s classes (or equivalent) will take turns facilitating the classes.  Long-time TSK teachers Jack Petranker and Ralph McFall will join us approximately once a month for guidance and support.

The series will start at the beginning of Carolyn’s material (‘Space’ Class 1) and at the beginning of the book Time Space & Knowledge. Every other week, students will receive a recording of the corresponding class that Carolyn led (as a supplemental reference) as well as a copy of her handout.

Brand new TSK students are welcome.

The suggested donation for the entire 12-week course (all sessions) is $240.  The suggested donation for attending every other weekend (either Section A or Section B) is $120.

Returning students may attend the 12 week program of classes for the six week price.

If you would like to attend all or part of the sessions and finances are an obstacle, please email tskhumanbeings@gmail.com
