A symbol of diamond light of Awakening shining in all directions, the Vajra Temple rises 108 feet high in the western direction of the mandala. Its crystalline walls surround 108,000 golden Padmasambhava ten-inch high statues.
For the Dharma to survive on this planet, negativity must be transformed. The Vajra Temple, rising from a triangular promontory and pointing in Oddiyana’s direction, was created for this purpose: to invite the blessings of the great Guru Padmasambhava and manifest his presence in the West.
Vajra Temple is one of the most important creations of Odiyan. Comprehensive, artistic, and historic, it manifests Guru Padma’s promise to humanity and brings his blessings alive.
In its size and complexity, and in the complexity, and in the obstacles overcome during construction, Vajra Temple is itself a miracle that exemplifies Guru Padma’s blessings.
