SACRED ART

As an empowered Mandala, Odiyan is home to many traditional and contemporary Buddhist sacred art forms crafted on-site by resident volunteers. In addition, for over 30 years continuing every year,  there is a constant stream of these precious symbols of enlightened knowledge donated to Buddhist centers in Asia.

We are seeking people with crafting and fabrication experience for our unique Buddhist art projects in bronze, clay, concrete casting, fabric, and sublimation. 

NEW Work-Study in Action resident volunteer program begins in 2024! Join our unique Buddhist sacred art projects which include a program Buddhist study and classes, meditation instruction, mindful cooking and more.

Begins February, 2024 with entry dates available until May 2024.

Program length: Preference is given to applicants who commit for the full duration of 8 months. The minimum commitment is 6 months.

You must be physically strong and good at working with your hands. Experience with hand tools in any trade and physical labor is preferred.

 

Encompassing a comprehensive work-study program, your work on the sacred art projects  includes:

  • Comfortable accommodation and nutritious meals
  • A monthly stipend of $200/$300 after one year
