While Bodhicitta is often translated literally as ‘enlightenment mind,’ it is not related to thoughts. Bodhicitta is universal goodness that never fails. It has the power to dispel all obstacles; it cannot be manipulated by the Marayas, and its light cannot be diminished or destroyed. Its blessings illuminate our minds and lift us out of the confining realms of samsara.

One day we will all be liberated by the power of these blessings. But we do not need to wait passively for ‘someday’. Through prayer and meditation, we can exercise our capacities to connect more quickly with blessings and move ourselves up to the gates of enlightenment.
